Method
1. Prepare the Salmon
- Pat the salmon dry to help the glaze adhere.
- Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Brush with a small amount of olive oil if you prefer a richer finish.
2. Mix the Hoisin Glaze
- In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Reserve 1 tablespoon for drizzling after cooking.
- Preheat and Prep the Air Fryer
3. Preheat and Prep the Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Line the air fryer basket with foil or parchment for easier cleanup, if desired.
4. Cook the Salmon
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the basket.
- Brush each fillet generously with the glaze.
- Air fry for 7–10 minutes, depending on thickness.
- If you want a deeper caramelized top, brush with more glaze halfway through the cook.
5. Serve
- Transfer salmon to plates.
- Drizzle with the reserved glaze.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Check doneness early—salmon overcooks quickly in an air fryer.
- For crispier edges, cook at 400°F for the last 1–2 minutes.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce if your hoisin is on the salty side.
- Add broccoli or bok choy to the air fryer during the last 3–4 minutes for a one-basket meal.
- Use parchment liners with holes to avoid blocking airflow.
